BM 3979 / Physarum digitatum G.L. &/ Farquh. / Agege, S. Nigeria. Aug.1914./ leg. C.O. Farquharson. / BM001089864 [sheet label dated 3 FEB. 1927] + two slides COF 74 , BM001223787 , BM001223786 [with references to the notebook XXXV.89] .

NOTES: Farquharson & G.Lister (1916: 129) gave the type location as “on dead wood, Agegé, South Nigeria, August, 1914”. In BM there is a box of the original material ( BM 3979 ) which we consider to be the lectotype. There are two slides, notes in notebook XXXV: 89–92 and illustrations of the sample. The drawings are reproduced in part in the publication of the species so there is no doubt as to the identity of the sample. In the notes there is also a hand-sketched map of the area of Nigeria. Another box of this species was also located in BM ( BM 3980 ) but from another place and date .
