NOTES: Lister (1925: 186) mentions “ Somerset ” as the only place this variety was found. In BM there are two slides with reference to notebook XLI: 13 from Porlock [Somerset],12.20, HGH that appear to be of the original material. There is also a small rusty metal box marked “A. orcadella operculata / Colloderma oculatum / On moss on living oak./ Weir Wood, Exmoor. 11/1920.” but it was empty. This variety is currently included in the concept of the species and no longer has taxonomic value.
