NOTES: G. Lister (1919: 27) wrote “obtained last spring [1918] by Mr. H.J. Howard in the Whitlingham Woods, near Norwich.”. In BM there is a box (BM 3260) from 3 April 1918 that is original material and so we designate this as the lectotype. This collection is also referred to in notebook XXXIX: 22–24, where it is illustrated and the drawings form part of the illustration in the publication. This collection is also on Buxus leaves as mentioned in the article. There are two slides of this collection (6, 7), with reference to the notebook, XXXIX: 23. In BM there is also a box, BM 4035 mentioned by Ing (1982: 444) as the “ holotype ”, but the data on the label is posterior to the publication of the variety (G. Lister 1919) and so this can not be the original material. This box BM 4035 is labeled “[BM] 4035/ Lamproderma / atrosporum Meyl. / var. anglicum G. Lister & Howard / found associated with var. debile / Whitlingham Woods, Norwich/ leg. H.J. Howard. Apr. 1923 / BM001095157”. The var. anglicum was raised to species rank by Ing (1982).
