Lectotypus (designated here): NORWAY. Sogn og Fjordane, Vadheim , 61º12’29”N 5º49’48”E, Sep 1894, A. Lister & G. Lister ( BM 2914 !, BM001089799 ) GoogleMaps .

BM 2914 / Trichia lutescens Lister / Vadheim , Norway, Sept. 1894 / leg. A. & G. Lister / BM001089799 [sheet label dated 18 JUN. 1913] . NOTES: Lister (1894: 170) only mentions one collection for this variety “on fir and birch, Norway (L:B.M.139)”. In BM this sample was not located, but there was a box ( BM 2914 ) that appeared to be of original material and was from Norway, collected by the author. To confirm the data we consulted the Lister notebook on BM and beside L:B.M.139 the same data as on the box label were noted. This confirms that the box is the original material and so we designate it as the lectotype. The var. lutescens was raised to the rank of species by Lister (1897) himself .
