TYPUS: Not found .

NOTES: Morgan (1894: 138) in his paper “ Myxomycetes of the Miami Valley, Ohio ” attributes this species to A. Lister stating “Growing on old wood, bark, leaves, etc.; very common in this region”. This material from Ohio was not located in BM. The species with small spores as its main character is currently considered to be a synonym of S. axifera (Bull.) T. Macbr.
