Distribution in mainland China: BJ, FJ, GD, GS, GX, HE, JS, NX, SC, SD, SN, YN ( Chu & Zhang 1997; Hua 2002; Zhao 2005).
Other distribution. Korea, Japan, Taiwan. Introduced into the USA ( Hua 2002; Borowski & Węgrzynowicz 2007).
Biolog y. The species has been found to attack two to three years old young Grindelia integrifolia DC. (Compositae) in Loyang, China, and Liu et al. (2008a) reported details of the life cycle of the species based on observations of the damage in Loyang. More details of the damage to living trees in China is given by Zhao (2005).
