Distribution in mainland Chin a: Unspecified locality in mainland China (Borowski 2007).
Other distributio n. Indo-China, South and South-East Asia, Africa, Central and South America (PaDIL 2017).
Biology. This species is polyphagous ( Beeson & Bhatia 1937). It breeds in bamboo, rattan and wood with a high starch content, but is also recorded tunnelling in the wood of both angiosperm and coniferous trees ( Beeson & Bhatia 1937).
