Note. The specimens labelled as BC ZSM Lep 58641 and BC ZSM Lep 48880 have been used for barcoding. Molecular distance based on the Kimura two-parameter model for COI DNA barcodes between T. laura and the nearest species T. fansipana is 5,44%.
Diagnosis. The new species can be easily identified due its peculiar forewing pattern formed by yellowishwhite crosslines, orbicular and reniform, broad, well-defined black subterminal line and reddish-brown dashes in terminal field with well-defined rounded tornal mark, encircled with pale yellowish line. In the male genitalia T. laura well differs from other species of Tambana by extremely short and simple vesica, not armed with cornuti.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 49, 50 View FIGURES 49 – 56 ). Wingspan 40–42 mm. Antennae of male serrate. Head, and thorax covered with pale yellowish scales, patagia bordered with black, tegulae terminated with reddish brown scales; thorax with reddish-brown crest; abdomen yellowish-grey with crest formed by black scales. Forewing ground colour dark pale yellowish, elements of wing pattern black and reddish-brown; basal field black; costal area with five pale prominent yellowish spots and black spots in beginning of bordering lines of the crosslines; subbasal field filled with pale yellowish in costal area and black in ventral area; antemedial line pale yellowish, bordered with black; medial field with reddish-brown and pale-yellowish dashes and black diffused medial shade; orbicular as rounded pale-yellowish spot encircled with black; reniform pale-yellowish, with black spot and pale surrounding towards to postmedial line, encircled with black; postmedial line pale-yellowish, outlined inwardly by black line and outwardly by blackish subterminal field; subterminal line black, diffused inwardly, well defined and outlined with thin yellowish line outwardly; terminal field with reddish-brown dashes, outlined with thin yellowish line and with clear rounded tornal mark encircled with pale yellowish line; terminal line a row of black vertical streaks outlined inwardly with thin yellowish line; cilia mottled, brown between veins, pale-yellowish opposite veins. Hindwing yellow in basal half, with wide, well defined greyish-brown terminal band; cilia greyish-brown, pale-yellow opposite veins.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 109 View FIGURES 107 – 109 ). Uncus relatively short, thin, curved; tegumen broad, somewhat shorter than vinculum, with small penicular extensions; vinculum V-shaped; transtilla with broad leave-like lobes; juxta shieldlike, broad and high, pointed basally; valva moderate large, in basal two third with almost parallel margins, gradually curved distally, with rounded apex; harpe lies in distal third of valva, curved, reach costal margin of valva; Aedeagus relatively short, moderate; carina armed with two patches of small spines; vesica tubular, short, projecting by straight angle to aedeagus, without cornuti.
