Distribution: NE Argentina, Paraguay; Bolivia (lowlands), Brazil (from Rio Grande do Sul to Minas Gerais, Goiás and Mato Grosso), Paraguay.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
