Lectotype (Stearn, Introd. Linnaeus’ Sp. Pl. (Ray Soc. ed.): 47. 1957): [icon] " Lobelia caule erecto, foliis cordatis obsolete dentatis petiolatis, corymbo terminatrice" in Linnaeus, Hort. Cliff.: 426, t. 26. 1738.

Current name: Lobelia cliffortiana L. View in CoL ( Campanulaceae ).

Note: Rendle (in J. Bot. 73: 273. 1935; in Fawcett & Rendle, Fl. Jamaica 7: 142. 1936) stated that the name was based on the Clifford plate, also noting good material in the Clifford herbarium (BM). However, he did not explicitly indicate a type.
