Specimens examined: Site 94­11, 31 females; Site 94­13, 63 females, 1 DN; Site 94­14, 4 females; Site 94­16, 1 female; Site 94­31, 3 females; Site 99­29, 1 female; Site 2000­20, 3 females.

Lasioseius youcefi is widespread in Africa, Europe, and North America (Walter & Lindquist, 1989; Karg, 1993a). It has been found in soil, moss, grass, leaf litter, chaff, decaying fruit, flowers, and a mammal nest. It is parthenogenetic (female­only), and feeds on nematodes, mites, Collembola , and fungal hyphae (Walter & Lindquist, 1989). All the specimens found in this survey were females.
