Lasioseius youcefi is widespread in Africa, Europe, and North America (Walter & Lindquist, 1989; Karg, 1993a). It has been found in soil, moss, grass, leaf litter, chaff, decaying fruit, flowers, and a mammal nest. It is parthenogenetic (femaleonly), and feeds on nematodes, mites, Collembola , and fungal hyphae (Walter & Lindquist, 1989). All the specimens found in this survey were females.
