Distribution in China. Yunnan only.

Other distribution. Cambodia, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam ( Liu & Beaver, 2018).

Host plants. Like H. aequalis and H. hamatipennis , the species is polyphagous ( Beeson & Bhatia 1937). These authors suggest it is primarily a forest-dwelling species, and there are few records from forest products.
