Psocidus hirsutus New, 1975: 255 View in CoL
Setopsocus hirsutus, ( New) , Endang et al. 2002: 129 Material examined (all taken by beating): INDONESIA, SUMATRA, SE, Kayu Agung, rubber plantation, 20m, 1 male, 1 female, 20.I.1996, ESK; Punti Kayu, mixed secondary forest, 20m, 1 female, 25.I.1996. ESK; West, Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park, Palimpangan Liwa, cloves, 520m, 1 male, 1 female, 27.VI.1997, ESK; North, Gunung Leuser National Park, Blankejeren Rerebe, pines, 860m, 1 female, 4.VI.1997, ESK.
Remarks. This species, described from Singapore, was found at low to middle elevations in Sumatra, and was previously known from middle elevations in East Java ( Endang et al. 2002). The Sumatran specimens are clearly conspecific with those from Java, in having a subgenital plate with a short, rounded posterior lobe on which the sclerotisation differs from that of S. magnus Smithers & Thornton , from New Guinea.
