Type.
Madagascar. Prov. Toliara: haute vallée du Mandrare près d’Andetra (Andotsy), 26 Nov 1928, H. Humbert 6849 (holotype: G!; isotypes: K, P [P00418562]!) .
Notes.
This plant is similar to C. meridionalis , except that it has considerably wider leaves that are silvery-lepidote on the lower surface and turn dark blackish green on the upper surface when dried. Further study is needed to determine if it should be recognized as a distinct species.
