Dryocoetes villosus (Fabricius, 1792) View in CoL

Distribution in Iran. Mazandaran ( Samin et al. 2011).

General distribution. Europe, North Africa, Turkey.

Biology. The species breeds primarily in Quercus and Castanea (Fagaceae) ( Palm 1959; Pfeffer 1995). The species is polygamous and the gallery system consists of a central chamber with 2–7 branches ( Balachowsky 1949; Palm 1959).
