Distribution
Cambodia, Thailand north of the Isthmus of Kra, Lao PDR, possibly Vietnam. It is thought that this species may be widely distributed in the Indochinese Subregion north of the Isthmus of Kra ( Csorba 2011).

Taxonomic note
These specimens were reported in Francis et al. (1999 a) and Francis (2008) as G. tylopus , but in genetic and morphological features they clearly match the description of the subsequently-described G. bucephalus .
