Distribution
Thailand north of Isthmus of Kra, Myanmar, south Cambodia, north and central Vietnam, Lao PDR, Yunnan ( China) ( Soisook et al., 2008).

Taxonomic note
This species was originally described as a subspecies of R. stheno , but Soisook et al. (2008) determined that it should be considered a distinct species. R. stheno sensu stricto is not presently known to occur in Lao PDR suggesting that all previously published records of R. stheno from Lao PDR should be referred to R. microglobosus .
