ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1871a: 324.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Pedemontio [Piedmont ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: junior secondary homonym of Anthomyia carbonaria Meigen, 1826 ; senior (but invalid) synonym of Fannia rondanii ( Strobl, 1893) View in CoL ( Pont 1986a: 54; Barták et al. 2016: 104).
REMARKS: Rondani (1871a: 324) described Homalomyia carbonaria , without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from L. Bellardi. We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
