ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868b: 35.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Mendoza ( San Cárlos ) [Mendoza (San Cárlos) ( Argentina)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, unplaced to genus of Cythereinae View in CoL ( Evenhuis & Greathead 1999: 246, 2015: 257).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868b: 35) described Mulio lateralis , without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from P. Strobel. Evenhuis & Greathead (1999: 246) reported the type depository as unknown. We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
