ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875c: 438.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Insula Bonae Fortunae (Borneo) , Provincia Sarawak [ Bona Fortuna Island , Sarawak Province, Borneo]” ( Rondani 1875c: 421) .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MSNG): Sarawak / Typus / Prosyrogaster chelyonothus Rond. / Prosyrogaster chelyonothus n° 32.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Campylocera chelyonothus ( Steyskal 1977d: 39) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1875c: 438) described Prosyrogaster chelyonothus from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material collected by G. Doria and O. Beccari. Guiglia (1957: 196) and Raineri & Rey (1996: 49) reported the holotype (♀) in the MSNG.
