REMARKS: name that Rondani (1868c: 242) proposed in synonymy and was not made available by use as a valid species before 1961. Zetterstedt (1847: 2336) described a male and a female from Italy but did not name them. Rondani (1868c: 242) proposed the name Sapromyza zetterstedtii for these latter specimens and considered it as a junior synonym of Sapromyza subvittata Loew, 1847 . Neither Becker (1905) nor Papp (1984a) considered Sapromyza zetterstedtii as a valid species and, as far as we know, neither did anyone else. For this latter reason, the name Sapromyza zetterstedtii is unavailable (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 11.6.1). O’Hara et al. (2011: 215) considered the name as unavailable.
