Sphaerocera pallidimana Rondani, 1880 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1880: 15 (key), 17 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in urbe Parma [city of Parma (Italy)]”.
TYPE MATERIAL: destroyed. See Remarks.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Ischiolepta scabricula (Haliday, 1836) View in CoL (Papp 1984: 71, Roháček et al. 2001b: 93).
REMARKS: Rondani (1880: 17) described Sphaerocera pallidimana without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, but giving a single measurement of length. Allen L. Norrbom examined the type material in 1985 without publishing any paper (A.L. Norrbom, pers. comm., March 2013). This specimen was in good condition in 1985 but is now completely destroyed. The MZUF (Box 36) contains an empty pin without specimen with the following labels: Sphaerocera Loew pallidimana Rdn. / 1918 / holotype ♂ Sphaerocera pallidimana Rondani , labeled by A.L. Norrbom, XII.[19]84 / = scabricula Hal. , dott. Villeneuve det. / Ischiolepta scabricula [sic!] (Hal.), det. A.L. Norrbom, XII.1984.
