ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1877b: 23 (key), 26 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ In colle ditionis parmensis [ Parmese hill ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (terminalia and abdomen on a slide) ( MZUF: Box 28): / Coremacera Rndn. confluens n. / 1499 / Type / C. confluens Rnd., J. Verbeke det., 1963.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Rivosecchi 1992a: 144, Rozkošný & Elberg 1984: 179, Munari & Rivosecchi 1995: 4).
REMARKS: Rondani (1877b: 26) described Coremacera confluens from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ semel marem legi [I collected the male once]”. Rivosecchi (1992a: 134) considered the single male in the MZUF as the holotype.
