2. Genus Cranotettix Grant, 1955 View in CoL
This genus was described based only in a unique female specimen sampling in 1937 at Panamá (Chiriqui Volcano) ( Fig. 36 View FIGURE 36 ) and named Cranotettix alpha Grant, 1955 ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ). This species is characterized by pronotum which covering over the head and surpassing the apex of the abdomen, almost reaching the apex of the knee; pronotum tuberculate and very lightly scabrous surface; infrascapular area distinctive; tegmina, tegminal sinus and wings lacking; middle femur apical spine absence; hind femur slender, about three and three-quarter times as long as broad ( Grant, 1955a, 1962).
