DISTRIBUTION: Altai Mtns.

COMMENT: If this species is conspecific with vir , the name roboratus apparently has priority; see Yudin, 1971, [Insectivorous Mammals of Siberia], Nauka, Novosibirsk, p. 105. Considered a subspecies of araneus by Gromov and Baranova, 1981:17.
