Found resting on grass and flowers at sunset, together with Colletes mlokossewiczi . Prior to our find, E. productulus was documented in Italy from Valle d’Aosta ( Amiet et al. 2007), Piemonte ( Schwarz et al. 1999, Bogusch and Hadrava 2018) and Emilia-Romagna ( Bogusch and Hadrava 2018). We sequenced one male and one female and the resulting sequences seem to be the first for E. productulus . The nearest species for which sequences are deposited in BOLD is Epeolus variegatus (average match 96.89%, range 97.99%-92.56%).
