scientific name

Graphis irosina Vainio (1921: 21)
status

Graphis irosina Vainio (1921: 21) .

Literature: Nakanishi et al. (2001: 52) as Graphina irosina .

Remarks:—We have restudied the type material and found that G. irosina is conspecific with Acanthothecis dialeuca (Kremp.) Staiger & Kalb in: Staiger (2002: 79), which is reported from Malaysia, Andaman Islands and Fiji. Both species share the same spore size and spore septation as well as the chemistry (stictic and constictic acids). Graphis irosina must therefore be deleted from the Thai checklist of Graphis species, but it is a new addition to the Thai lichen biota, because Acanthothecis dialeuca is not mentioned in the checklist.
