Type:—AMBOINA [ Ambon], an Baumrinden , 1857, Doleschall s.n. (W, not seen) .

Thallus corticolous, beige or greenish yellow, continuous, smooth, slightly glossy or dull. Lirellae immersed to distinctly erumpent, with a lateral thalline margin, short to elongate, straight, curved or sinuose, sparsely to radiately branched, labia convergent, striate, black, not pruinose, disc not visible from above, ( tenella -morph). Exciple apically carbonized; hymenium clear; ascospores 8/ascus, hyaline, transversely septate, 7–11-septate, 35–47 × 7–10 μm, 5–11- septate, 33–38 × 5–6 μm (protologue), 9–13-septate, 33–45 × 5–8 μm (holotype, Lücking 2009).

Chemistry: no lichen substances detected by TLC (anal. K. Kalb)

Distribution and habitat:—Neotropical and eastern palaeotropical, reported from Costa Rica ( Lücking et al. 2008), Ambon (type), Australia, Philippines ( Lücking et al. 2009) and here reported from Thailand for the first time.

Remarks:—The spores in our collections are slightly broader than in the other specimens, but this may well reflect the normal variation within this species.

Material from Thailand examined:— Ranong province, area of Ban Heownumsai along side road from Phetkasem Road ( Road #4) to Ton Petch Waterfall ( Rainbow Waterfall ), ca. 30 km S of Ranong city, in a palm tree plantation, 20 m, 09°43’28’’ N, 98°36’52’’ E, 6 June 2015, J. Sutjaritturakan & K. Kalb (hb. K. Kalb 41473), dito, Pungaban Waterfall, at Petkasem Road (Road # 4), ca. 25 km NNE of Ranong City, at the parking areae opposite of the waterfall, on bark of freestanding deciduous tress, 95 m, 10°03’66’’ N, 98°40’10’’ E, 6 June 2015, J. Sutjaritturakan & K. Kalb (hb. K. Kalb 41491) GoogleMaps .
