Distribution: Pantropical.

Records in Mexico: Chiapas, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Colima, Queretaro, Puebla, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Morelos, Zacatecas, Veracruz, Oaxaca and Yucatan.

Biogeographic province: Chiapas Highlands. Chihuahuan Desert. Pacific Lowlands. Balsas Basin. Transmexican Volcanic Belt. Sierra Madre del Sur. Yucatan Peninsula. Sierra Madre Oriental. Veracruzan.

Habitat: Organic matter ( Aquila chrysaetos canadensis nests). Soil and litter of fallow, cloud mountain forest and coffee plantation. Low flooded rainforest. Dense lower tropical forest around Maya ruins, well–decayed leaf litter, moist. Epiphytic lichens, cave, senecionetum ( Senecio praecox ), moss, tropical cloud forest, oak litter, flood debris, long stream, bat’s guano.
