Vernacular Names: Ginkgo-toothed Beaked Whale.

Synonyms: Mesoplodon hotaula Deraniyagala 1963 .

Distribution: North Pacific and Indian Oceans: warm-temperate to tropical waters; Japan, Taiwan, Baja California, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Australia.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Data Deficient.
