Remarks

The carapace of males from Lake Biwa are slightly more angular along the dorsal margin compared with the type material from Kanazawa , Ishikawa Prefecture ( Smith and Kamiya 2007), but the morphology of the hemipenes and fifth limbs clearly demonstrates that they are conspecific. Previous records of this species are restricted to the type locality in Kanazawa. In Lake Biwa this species was found mostly on substrates containing large amounts of sand at depths ranging from 5.5 to 26.6 m, although two specimens were found at just 0.1 m depth.
