Artbeschreibung: 10-60 cm hoch. Alle Blätter borstenförmig, oft rau, Blatthäutchen meist weniger als 0,5 mm lang. Blattscheiden der sterilen Triebe offen oder höchstens im unteren Drittel geschlossen. Rispe 5-12 cm lang, +/- zusammengezogen, mit aufrechten Ästen. Ährchen 4-10 mm lang. Deckspelzen 2,5-7 mm lang, meist kurz begrannt. Fruchtknoten kahl.

Standort und Verbreitung in der Schweiz: Wiesen, Felsen, lichte Wälder / kollin-alpin / CH
