Mormidea varicornis Jakovlev, 1874: 58 ; Dolycoris baicalensis Jakovlev, 1894: 135 ; Dolycoris varicornis montandoni Sienkiewicz, 1954: 1225 .
Distribution in Iran. East Azarbaijan, Fars, Ilam, Kermanshah ( Hoberlandt 1997), Iran (no locality cited) ( Rider 2006; Ribes & Pagola Carte 2013).
General distribution. Euro-Mediterranean (except France, Spain, Portugal), Pontian, Central Asia, China; mentioned from Sinai.
Comments. According to Putshkov (1965) A. varicornis lives in wet biotopes, marshes, on Cyperaceae . Also, Ribes & Pagola Carte (2013) indicated that it can be injurious to rice fields.
