Note. Ślipiński (1989) pointed out that the type locality of C. castaneus , "Patagonia" indicated by Blanchard [1847] may be erroneous and that "Sta Cruz" may be the city of Bolivia, where Alcide D'Orbigny collected insects. The southern limit of C. castaneus in Argentina seems to be the north of the province of Buenos Aires.
