This species is characterized by a pale brown, glossy thallus, ascomata aggregated in white stromata, 3-septate ascospores (17–22 × 4–6 μm) with an enlarged upper cell and the presence of psoromic acid.

Distribution and habitat:—A pantropical corticolous species growing in rainforests and restingas (dune forests) from sea level to 1200 m.

Material from Thailand examined:— Trang province: Palian district ; surroundings of Tontae Waterfall , on bark of unidentified tree in a tropical rainforest, 110 m, 07°17’41’’ N, 99°52’56’’ E, 23 May 2009, J. Suritturakan 3017 & S. Siemmai (Hb. K. & J. Kalb 42153) GoogleMaps ; Trang province: Yan Ta Khao district ; tambon Thung Khai , in a tropical rainforest on bark of an unidentified deciduous tree, 25 m, 07°28’ N, 99°38’ E, 17 December 2016, J. Remarks:—The genus is a new addition to the Thai lichen biota.
