Diagnosis. The species is characterized by its long and dense flagellate setae on the ventral inner side of the gonocoxite that lacks of an intercoxal lobe; tegmen trapezoidal and maxillary palps 2-segmented.
The species is closely related to M. retarda Rudzinski, 2006 and M. megalocornuta ( Mohrig & Menzel, 1992) by having an ovate gonostylus with a strong apical tooth arising from dorsal lobe, and its trapezoid tegmen. The species differs in having long and dense flagellate setae on the ventral inner side of the gonocoxite, 2-segmented maxillary palps and lacks of an intercoxal lobe.
