Glyptothorax alaknandi Tilak 1969 ZBK : 42, figs. 8-11. Type locality: Alaknanda River, near Srinagar [Ganges drainage] , dist. Pauri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh, India. Holotype: ZSI F6154/2 .

Distribution: Ganges drainage, India (Tilak, 1969; Jayaram, 1999; Karmakar, 2000). Remarks: May be a synonym of G. brevipinnis ZBK (Ng, 2005a).
