Species from Europe and Central Asia ( Rasmont 1988, Williams, 1998, Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2004), with an elevational distribution between 500 and 2300 m. Its status is Critically Endangered in the IUCN Red List of European Bees (Rasmont et al. 2015).
