Holotype: ♀, Liukuei, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, 23º00´N, 120º38´E, 529m, 1989-IX-7, collected by K. W. Huang.
Location of type specimen: National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung, Taiwan, China.
Female ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). Body more robust. Antennae filiform. Longitudinal diameter of eyes 1.8 times horizontal diameter and 1.6 times subocular furrow. Prozona is 1.2 times metazona in length. Length of interspace of mesosterum is as long as the narrowest. Length of the hind femur as long as 4.5 times of its maximum width. Length of subgenital plate longer than width, hind margin of subgenital plate acute in the middle. Cercus shortconical, reaching about 2/3 of the epiproct. Ovipositor valve thick and short, apex acute.
Measurement (in mm). Length of body: 28.0. Length of tegmina: 5.0. Length of pronotum: 6.2. Length of hind femur: 16.4.
Male. Unknown.
Diagnosis. The new species Taipodisma kaohsiungensis sp. nov. is similar to T. nigritibia Yin et al, 2014 . The major differences are listed in Table 2 View TABLE 2 .
Etymology The specific epithet is named for Kaohsiung, the type locality.
