Morellia hortorum ssp. tibetana Fan, 1974: 95 View in CoL . Type locality: CHINA, Xizang [Tibet], Lhasa. Holotype Ƌ, SIPPE.

Descriptive remarks. Originally described as a subspecies of M. hortorum View in CoL , M. tibetana View in CoL was recently raised to full species rank by Fan (2008).

Similar to M. hortorum , the male differing as follows: scutellum with 1 basal, 1 latero-discal, 2 preapical (weak) and 1 apical pairs of setae. Wing with one faint spot in costal cell from base until after the humeral crossvein. Seventeen pairs of frontal setae. Mid tibia with an anterodorsal comb-like row of shorter setulae on basal twothirds; hind femur with an anterodorsal row of shorter setae; hind tibia with an anteroventral row of shorter setae and with anteroventral and anterodorsal setae on apical half, and 2 anterodorsal setae on basal half; dm-cu sinuous; posterior margin of sternite 5 concave and with few setae ( Fig. 157 View FIGURES 157 – 161 ).

Terminalia. Apical third of cercal plate bare; cercal plate ventrally with 2 strong spines; surstylus with many setae on apical half ( Figs 158–160 View FIGURES 157 – 161 ); basiphallus long; aedeagus with spicules on anterior membrane of distiphallus; gonopod with 1 long and strong seta on basal third and 1 seta on apical third; paramere with some setae apically and a few setae on middle third ( Fig. 161 View FIGURES 157 – 161 ).

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. CHINA: locality not deciphered [in Chinese], 5.vii.1977, 1 Ƌ ( BMNH).

Distribution. PALAEARCTIC: China (Xizang, Shanxi).
