Episcaphula (Tropidoscaphula) Heller, 1920: 56 .

Type species: Episcaphula corallipes Gorham, 1888: 142–143 , by original designation.

Diagnosis. Tropidoscaphula has characters of Episcaphula as discussed above. It is distinguished from other subgenera by the following characters: body shape broader more elliptical; surface not densely punctate or pubescent; pronotal lateral bead at margin thickened, widest anteriorly; elytral lateral margin notably explanate most of length; and prosternum with weak but distinct keeled (reduced in the new species).
