Episcaphula (Tropidoscaphula) Heller
Episcaphula (Tropidoscaphula) Heller, 1920: 56 .
Type species: Episcaphula corallipes Gorham, 1888: 142–143 , by original designation.
Diagnosis. Tropidoscaphula has characters of Episcaphula as discussed above. It is distinguished from other subgenera by the following characters: body shape broader more elliptical; surface not densely punctate or pubescent; pronotal lateral bead at margin thickened, widest anteriorly; elytral lateral margin notably explanate most of length; and prosternum with weak but distinct keeled (reduced in the new species).
Remarks. Tropidoscaphula currently has nine described species distributed in Indonesia (New Guinea to northern Borneo). The species described here extends that range to northern Australia.
