Type Locality: Seychelle Isls, Mahe Isl.

Vernacular Names: Seychelles Sheath-tailed Bat.

Subspecies Coleura seychellensis subsp. silhouettae Thomas 1915

Distribution: Seychelle Isls; possibly Zanzibar. The Zanzibar record is extremely dubious ( Koopman, 1993).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Critically Endangered.
