Remarks: Đorđević (1903) considered P. subruber similar to P. lutescens , mentioning only a difference in colour between the two species. K.O. Viets (1978) listed this species with a question mark as synonym of P. lutescens . As there is no reason for interpreting differences in colour as indicators of taxonomic separation in Pionopsis , P. subruber is here synonymized with P. lutescens . New for the fauna of Greece.
