Type locality.
Syria.
Distribution.
Algeria, Turkey, Israel, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran ( Mazur 2011). Newly reported from Lebanon (Badghan).
Biology.
According to Kryzhanovskij and Reichardt (1976), S. submarginatus is a typical inhabitant of xerophilous localities situated in higher elevations. During our sampling, a single specimen was collected. It was collected from altitude of 1174 m, during the summer season (June) from Badghan, Mount Lebanon where the rainfall average was 0 mm and the humidity 55.98 %, which would be in line with the above-mentioned observations of Kryzhanovskij and Reichardt (loc. cit.; Fig. 84 View Figure 84 ).
