Canthidium (Neocanthidium) nobile Harold, 1867 View in CoL
Canthidium nobile Harold, 1867b: 70 View in CoL [here transferred to the subgenus Neocanthidium View in CoL ]. Type locality: Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, Caçapava do Sul (“Das südliche Brasilien, Caasapava”; there is another municipality in Brazil with a similar name: Caçapava, in São Paulo state. Nonetheless, since Harold expressly cited that C. nobile View in CoL type locality was in southern Brazil, and given the rest of the known range of this species, I believe the Rio do Grande do Sul municipality is the most probable “Caasapava” locality Harold was referring to). Type material: Unknown number of syntypes (MNHN—ex Dohrn collection via Harold collection; HMZB). Distribution: Southern Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay (Martínez & Halffter 1986a).
