Order Trepostomata ULRICH, 1882
Incertae sedis
Trepostomata sp. indet.
Pl. II, figs 10-12; Table 3
Material: Single tangential section ( SMF 21.107).
Description: Apparently thin encrusting colony. Autozooecial apertures oval to slightly polygonal. Autozooecial diaphragms few, straight, thin. Aktinotostyles abundant, moderately large, arranged in one row between autozooecial apertures. Walls laminated, regularly thickened. Maculae of slightly larger autozooecia present.
Remarks: The morphology of this bryozoan in longitudinal section is unknown, therefore, no exact assignment can be made. The presence and shape of aktinotostyles in described specimen makes it similar to Ulrichotrypella ROMANTCHUK, 1967 , a trepostome genus known from the Lower to late Permian of Eurasia and Oman. However, similar aktinotostyles are known in the Middle Devonian bryozoan Eostenopora clivosa (SCHLÜTTER, 1889) ( ERNST, 2008). This species possesses acanthostyles beside aktinotostyles.
Occurrence: Shishtu 1 Formation, Upper Devonian (Frasnian); Niaz section, eastern Tabas, central Iran.
