Type species: Phipicobia pygiptilae Glowska and Schmidt, 2014 View in CoL , by original designation.
Diagnosis. FEMALE. Hypostomal apex bumpy. Peritremes M-shaped. Setae vi situated anterior to level of setae ve. Propodonotal shield divided into 2 narrow lateral sclerites bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and se and unpaired large medial shield. Opisthonotal and genital lobes absent. Bases of setae 1a separated. Pseudanal setae absent. Genital series with 2 pairs of setae. Apodemes I with small outgrowth but not strict thorn-like protuberances. Legs with full complement of solenidia. Physogastric form with distinctly enlarged idiosoma , worm-shaped in outline.
MALE: Unknown.
Species included. Monotypic genus, Phipicobia pygiptilae Glowska and Schmidt, 2014 only.
Host range. Passeriformes : Thamnophilidae .
Distribution. Neotropical region ( Guyana).
