Current name: Achyranthes indica (L.) Mill. View in CoL ( Amaranthaceae ).

Note: Although some authors (e.g. Fawcett & Rendle, Fl. Jamaica 3: 136. 1914; Townsend in Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Amaranthaceae : 102. 1985) treat the type as from the Hermann herbarium (BM), and therefore homotypic with var. aspera L. , var. indica has as the source of its diagnosis a Burman description and figure. In addition, although some authors treat A. indica (L.) Mill. as synonymous with A. aspera , others do not.
