Sargus obscurus Wiedemann, 1830: 35 View in CoL . Holotype: male (SMF, examined, originally stated as female, in Woodley 2001: 199). Type locality: Brazil.

Distribution. Brazil, Paraguay ( Canindeyú : Salto del Guairá; Itapúa: Pirapó).
Comments. One male of Pirapó has the right antenna and wing slide-mounted, with genitalia dissected, stored in a microvial and pinned below the specimen.
