replacement name for pruinosa Leech, 1900 , nec Guenèe, 1852. Synonymy: expergita Draudt, 1937 , syn. n.; pulverosa taigunensis Hreblay & Ronkay, 1997 (subspecises). Acronycta expergita Draudt, 1937 , Entomologische Rundschau 54(30–32): 382, Pl. IV: 2d. Type material reported:

“ Wenige Stucke vom Hoeng-Shan (Prov. Hunan) im April 1933 " .

Material examined. 2 males, Hoeng-shan, Prov. Hunan, 19, 27. vii 1933 H. Höne ; 1 male, Shanghai, 18.vi 1941 H. Höne ; 3 females, Amoy, Prov. Fukien , 21.v 1924 H. Höne ; 1 male, Shantung; 1 female, Linping , pr. Kwangtung 1924 H. Höne ; 1 male, Amoy, Sudchina , 24. VI 24 . H. Höne .

Notes. We did not find any specimens collected in April 1933 in Hoeng-Shan, corresponding to data in the original description. The addition label "Type verloren" [type lost] is pined under the identification label " Acronicta expergita ". Apparently the type specimens are lost. However, all examined specimens match well to the original description and illustration by Draudt. We re-identified specimens of Acronycta expergita ( syn. n.) from the collection of ZFMK as conspecific with Acronicta pulverosa by comparison with the photograph of the holotype and other illustrations of the latter (Sugi 1982; Krusek & Behounek 1998).

Distribution. China ( Hebei, Shandong, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Hunan, Fujiang, Sichuan, Yunnan, Taiwan), Korea, Japan.
